Pu Erh tea
Pu-erh (Pu’er) tea is a unique type of fermented tea made from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant and traditionally produced in China’s Yunnan province. What makes it special is its aging and fermentation process, which deepens its flavor over time—sometimes for years or even decades.
🌿 How It’s Different
Unlike green, oolong, or black tea, pu-erh undergoes microbial fermentation after drying. This process gives it:
- A rich, earthy aroma
- Smooth, mellow taste
- Dark reddish-brown color when brewed
Pu-erh is often compressed into cakes, bricks, or tuos (bowl shapes), though it’s also sold loose.
